Cookies and similar technologies

Our website sets no cookies. The Service uses one strictly necessary sign-in cookie and keeps a few preferences in your browser's local storage.

In short

This website, templace.co.uk, sets no cookies. It has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Its fonts and pictures are served from the site itself, so no other company learns that you visited.

The Service (the console that agencies and their users sign in to) uses one cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember a few preferences. Neither is used for tracking or advertising.

The law

Regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR) controls storing information on your device, or reading it, whether by a cookie, local storage or anything similar. Consent is needed unless an exception applies.

The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 added exceptions that took effect on 5 February 2026. As well as storage that is strictly necessary for a service you have asked for, consent is no longer needed for some analytics, for adapting how a service looks or works to your preferences, and for locating a device to give emergency help. The analytics and preference exceptions apply only if you are told clearly what is stored and why, and are given a simple, free way to object.

This website

Nothing is stored on your device when you visit templace.co.uk. When you send the contact form, your enquiry goes to our own server, which emails it to us. To turn away automated spam, the form uses a hidden field and limits how often messages can be sent. Neither stores anything on your device.

Because the site stores nothing, there is no cookie banner. If we ever add something that needs consent, we will ask before anything is stored.

The Service

When you use the Service, it stores the following on your device.

  • Sign-in cookie. What it does: keeps you signed in as you move between pages, so the Service knows each request comes from you. It is HttpOnly, so scripts in the page cannot read it, and it does not hold your password. Why no consent is needed: it is strictly necessary for the service you asked for.
  • Preferences in local storage. What they do: remember choices about how the Service works for you on that device, for example whether it has already asked to add Templace to the device. Why no consent is needed: they fall within the exception for adapting how a service works to your preferences. They are not used for tracking or advertising.

How to object or remove them

You can object to the preference storage at any time, free of charge. Clear the stored data for the Service in your browser's settings, or use a private browsing window, which discards it when you close the window. The Service works the same without it; it may simply ask you its questions again.

You can also clear or block cookies in your browser. If you block the sign-in cookie, you will not be able to sign in, because the Service cannot tell that requests come from you.

Agency careers websites

An agency's careers website runs on the Service under the agency's own name. The agency is the controller for that site and is responsible for telling its visitors about anything stored on their devices. If the agency's site stores anything that is not strictly necessary and is not covered by an exception, the agency must ask for consent first.

Changes and questions

We will update this page before we change what is stored on your device. If you have a question, email terry@hilliernet.co.uk or call 07789 938284.
